Weekly Newsletter 11/2-11/6 Language Arts/History Important Info Parent/Teacher Conference Wed 11/4 No SCHOOL FRI 11/6

This is a history week. We will be focusing on the Mesopotamian Civilization. We will be learning about what makes a civilization. We will get to play an interactive game where the students will choose a trader to follow and make decisions along the way. We will read about the first empire.

Reading We will be reading about the first empire and taking notes using the correct text structures such as: compare and contrast, problem-effect-solution, description, or sequencing.. The goal is for the students to be able to recognize and use the correct text structure that goes along with the reading.

Has your child showed you their glog yet? What about the class blog? Did you know that you can get a copy of their IceMan Interview DVD? Just have your child bring in a blank DVD.
